Jammu: Police on Saturday said that while continuing it’s drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, district Police in Jammu on Saturday achieved major success as it recovered six grams of heroin from two accused in the jurisdiction of Police Station Janipur.
In a statement issued on Saturday the District Police Jammu said that a police team of Police Station Janipur led by SDPO West Vikram Singh assisted by SHO PS Janipur Inspr Sikander Singh while on naka duty at Sishu Samadhi Bura Nagar, Paloura Jammu rounded up two suspected persons, adding therein that during search six grams of heroin was recovered from the accused later identified as Rohit Zadoo S/o Bansi Lal Zadoo and Dilawar Singh S/o Pritam Singh both residents of Laxmi Nagar Muthi.
Stating that a case FIR No. 51/2023 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Janipur and accused was arrested, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that further investigation of the cases is going on.
In the concluding para of it’s statement Police said “Jammu police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain” , adding that “Jammu Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace”.
Police in it’s above quoted statement also appealed people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption on 9086100100 or 100 with Police for the cause, assuring in that the identity of informers will be kept confidential.
