GCW, DECC organise counselling cum awareness session at Udhampur

Udhampur: The Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement Cell of Government College for Women, Udhampur, in collaboration with District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC) on Friday organised a Counselling-cum-Awareness Session in the College Campus.
The programme was held under the overall supervision of Prof. Jugal Kishore, Convenor, Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement Cell.
Principal of the College, Prof. Anjali Mahajan was the chief guest.
The proceedings of the programme were initiated by Dr. Kamaldeep Kour, wherein she welcomed the chief guest and introduced the audience to resource person, Mudassir Yusaf, Young Professional DECC/Model Career Centre Udhampur and accompanying staff to the august gathering.
In the presence of other faculty members, the event was formally inaugurated by Prof. Anjali Mahajan, the college principal.
The Principal appreciated the participating audience for attending this Career Counselling-cum-Awareness session organised by the District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC).
She urged the students to gain the most of it by utilizing the vital information acquired in the programme to better understand the career options that are available to the graduates in the current job market scenario.
While encouraging the members of the Career Counselling, Guidance, and Placement (CCGP) Cell for effectively hosting such events, she said that the college shall continue to organize such events in the future and the Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement (CCGP) Cell of the college shall extend full support in organizing such events to keep the students aware of the pros and cons of the ever-changing job market. She said that the objective of organising counselling session was to increase students’ understanding of the subtleties of the ever-changing employment market and develop themselves from job seekers to job creators.
Mudassir Yusaf, Young Professional, DECC, Udhampur the resource person on the occasion, sensitised the participants regarding J&K Employment portal and its integration with National Career Services (NCS) portal wherein one can find multiple job opportunities through PAN India training programs and online career counselling.
The participants were also informed regarding the various mission youth schemes like Tejaswani, Mumkin, Spurring. He also interacted with the students and mentored them the process of applying for these schemes through an online demo for registration on the National Career Services portal wherein students participated actively.
As many as 140 students participated in the programme and filled their registration Performa devised by District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC), Udhampur.
Vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed, members of Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement (CCGP) Cell. Dr. Amit Kumar, Prof. Yash Paul, Prof. Shama Rani were other members of the CCGP Cell present on the occasion.
