Dear Readers,
It was in 2008 squarely on this day the “Kashmir Horizon” hit the stalls in Kashmir. It was merely a microscopic effort in an ocean of undulations of hope and despair. It is only my indomitable courage and a proclivity towards the profession which made “Kashmir Horizon” sail through the challenges and reach this stage. Running a newspaper is a herculean task currently and is amply complicated in Jammu & Kashmir where at times despair spirals to the extent of giving into adverse situations. It really dampens my spirits and dwarfs my intent, but I always derived my strength from the very words of my own father who not once but many a times in his life time said “one should learn to strive in the face of challenges”. I believe it won’t be any exaggeration to mention that I launched this newspaper at the insistence of my father as he always believed in helping the helpless and giving voice to the voiceless is also a way to help the helpless. His greatest perception was that service to humanity must reign supreme everywhere.

“On the completion of 15 years of the sustained publication of the English Daily “The Kashmir Horizon” we want to convey it to our valued readers in unambiguous terms that we treasure the relationship with them. We couldn’t have done without each and every one of you and hope that the untiring efforts of The team “Kashmir Horizon” will be encouraged in future also to lift this newspaper to new horizons in Jammu & Kashmir. With my little affordable efforts I put in my endeavors to ensure whatever contribution the newspaper could do to humanity. I thank all those people who are part of Kashmir Horizon and without whose efforts it is not possible to run the newspaper”.

I try my bit to voice the concerns of the hapless that have none to listen to their woes. Even after sustaining the publication of this newspaper for 15 long years I find it difficult to gauge the progress of this newspaper but I surely derive a great deal of satisfaction from the stride “Kashmir Horizon” has made since May 19, 2018, its 15th anniversary. I have learned to live in a tempest and seek every day blessings of Almighty Allah to make this newspaper progress despite the plethora of surrounding challenges. More than the satisfaction “Kashmir Horizon” has given me with regard to news stories which we publish. the newspaper has attracted a host of writers including the likes of Dr Farooq Ahmad Peer Director Academics at J&K Board of School Education, Dr Bilal Ahmad Bhat an Associate Professor at the S K University of Agriculture Sciences & Technonoly, Dr Shahid Amin Trali an Assistant Professor at ITM University Gwalior , , Dr Tasaduq Hussain Itoo Director Jammu & Kashmir Innovative Foundation For Transforming Society (JKIFTS) and Medical Practitioner at SMVD Narayana Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu, Dr. Arshed Iqbal Dar an Assistant Professor in the J&K Government’s Higher Education Department and Dr Rizwan Rumi a Research Fellow at United Nations World Peace Institute. Since last 15 years “The Kashmir Horizon” has retained it’s position as fast growing newspaper in Jammu & Kashmir and this 15 year old English daily launched with the slogan “Newspaper that envisions people’s empowerment” has grown stronger as the “people’s paper” month after month and year after year. The fascinating 15 year long journey of “The Kashmir Horizon” has made it a household companion across Kashmir, yet this is only the beginning. We look forward to the journey ahead with the continuing affection and support of our readers. Lastly I compliment the editorial and management teams of “The Kashmir Horizon” for their untiring efforts in taking this English daily “The Kashmir Horizon” to the doorsteps of our valued readers every morning without fail. Thank you all on the eve of 15 years of the sustained publication of this English Daily “The Kashmir Horizon”. On the completion of 15 years of the sustained publication of the English Daily “The Kashmir Horizon” we want to convey it to our valued readers in unambiguous terms that we treasure the relationship with them. We couldn’t have done without each and every one of you and hope that the untiring efforts of The team “Kashmir Horizon” will be encouraged in future also to lift this newspaper to new horizons in Jammu & Kashmir.
