Kishtwar: Marking another significant achievement, the third Open-air gymnasium was inaugurated in the district Kishtwar here on the historic Chowgan Grounds established under the 14th Finance Commission scheme of the Rural Development Department.
The inauguration ceremony was held last evening led by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav and DDC member Kishtwar, Zakir Hussain Batt, in the presence of DYSSO Kharati Lal Sharma, district officers, staff of Sports office and the local public.
This ambitious project, initiated under the guidance and directives of the District Development Commissioner and closely supervised by Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP), Zakir Hussain Wani, RDD officers, and local PRIs, aims to promote fitness and well-being among the residents of Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas.
The District Youth Services & Sports Department also played a vital role in bringing this project to fruition.
The newly inaugurated gymnasium is equipped with quality fitness equipment meticulously designed to cater to the diverse fitness needs of individuals from all walks of life.
It stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the District Administration Kishtwar in prioritizing the health and wellness of the community.
Furthermore, it is noteworthy that a total of 18 Open-Air Gyms are planned to be installed at designated locations across District Kishtwar, particularly in rural areas where fitness facilities are limited.
The Open gyms installed at various places, including TRC Mughal Maidan, H/S Dikri, GDC Chatroo, and H/S Tagood will soon be inaugurated by the Panchayats for the benefit of the people.
The introduction of these open-air gyms aims to provide accessible fitness options and encourage a healthier lifestyle among the residents of Kishtwar. It reflects the administration’s commitment to the holistic development and well-being of the community.
