Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Justice Rahul Bharti tour B’pora, Inspect work of new court complex at Kaloosa

Bandipora : The Judges of High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Sanjeev Kumar, who is also Administrative Judge/Portfolio Judge for district Bandipora and Justice Rahul Bharti, on Saturday paid visit to the district Bandipora where they took stock of court functioning and other infrastructural facilities besides inspection of new Court Complex being constructed at Kaloosa.
On the occasion, Justice Kumar was accompanied by Justice Rahul Bharti, Judge of the High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
During the visit, Justice Kumar inspected the facilities of the new complex. On the occasion, he was accompanied by Principal District and Sessions Judge Amit Kumar, District Development Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad, SSP Bandipora and other members of the district Jury besides officers from district administration.
Dr. Owais informed that the new court complex is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 35 crore approximately. He further informed that the complex has been designed to provide an efficient and congenial judicial environment to the people of Bandipora and its adjoining areas.
During the tour, Justice Kumar interacted with the District Judge and other officials of the Judiciary in Bandipora. He also met lawyers’ fraternity and Bar Association and listened to their suggestions and grievances related to the functioning of the courts in the district.
He noted that the new complex would greatly improve the functioning of the courts and enhance access to justice for the people of the region.
In his remarks, Justice Sanjeev Kumar stated that the judiciary in Jammu and Kashmir is committed to ensure speedy justice to the people of the region and added that the new court complex in Bandipora would contribute significantly to achieving this goal. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity in the administration of justice.
At District Court Complex Bandipora, the Justices were welcomed warmly by Principal District and Sessions Judge Amit Sharma and a galaxy of advocates and other members of the Jury.
Justice Kumar took a comprehensive review of various facilities for litigants, public and lawyers. He also took a detailed review of infrastructural facilities, wherein he was briefed by Principal District and Sessions Judge about the facilities and services to be augmented.
Speaking on the occasion, the Administrative Judge stressed for ensuring timely and inexpensive disposal of pending cases for litigating the public. He also stressed for enhancing endeavors with reference to disposal of cases in line with the mandate of the law and encouraging Alternative Dispute Redressal Mechanism outside routine procedural mechanism by putting in mediation for reconciliation.
Meanwhile, President Bar Association Bandipora submitted the memorandum to the Justice wherein they sought his special intervention for the redressal of their grievances.
Justice Kumar offered a patient hearing the demands and grievances and instructed concerned authorities to initiate efforts towards their immediate redressal.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Kumar said the new court complex is coming up with modern facilities, including lawyers chambers, library, residential quarters, and other modern facilities.
He impressed upon the executing agency to speed up work on the project and ensure that it is completed within the stipulated time frame. While reviewing the work culture of the judiciary, he asked the concerned for early and speedy disposal of the court cases.
