DDC Poonch interacts with Distt Dev Council

DM Assures sustained and firm collaboration/integration of administrative machinery for Dev of border Distt

Poonch : District Development Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary on Wednesday convened an introductory meeting with District Development Council Poonch here in the conference hall of the DC office.
At the onset, the CEO (ADDC) DDC Malikzada Sheraz Ul Haq welcomed the Council chairperson and the members and apprised them about the objectives of the meeting.
The DDCs/BDCs gave a brief overview of their respective constituencies. They discussed and raised important issues with deputy commissioner regarding the development of their concerned areas/ constituencies like Sports Stadium at Mankote, Maintenance of irrigation canals at Surankote, Road connectivity, water and electricity supply, network connectivity in far-flung areas, blacktopping of roads, Tribal Transit camp at Behramgala and early opening of Mughal road among other general issues.
Speaking at the meeting, the DDC chairperson along with other PRIs extended their warm welcome to the new DDC Poonch. The Chairperson also raised some general issues of public importance and also laid emphasis on the timely completion of all development projects and timely utilisation of allotted funds to the concerned departments.
Apart from speaking on the developmental aspect, the DDC Poonch Yasin M.Chaudhary underlined the need to eradicate the drug menace in the district and added that the role of Public Representatives and general public is very important in this regard. He further said that women empowerment and female literacy is necessary to take the district to the next level. He also requested DDCs/BDCs to regularly monitor the quality of education being provided in the government schools in their respective areas.
While responding to the demands and issues projected by DDCs/BDCs he assured that the issues like road connectivity, water supply, electricity and education will be sorted in a phased manner to ensure the general public does not suffer anymore.
The Officers of line departments were directed to maintain close coordination with the PRIs while framing the work plans as proposed by the elected members.
He also expressed full commitment for strengthening the Panchayat Raj Institution and empowering the people at grassroots level. He said that DDC members are the eyes and ears of Administration and people have reposed faith in them for embarking the ladder of development and prosperity.
The meeting was also attended by DDC Vice Chairperson, Ashfaq Ahmed, DDC Poonch Ch. Abdul Ghani, DDC Loran Riaz Bashir Naz, DDC Mankote, Ch. Imran Zaffer, DDC Surankote B, Sohail Malik, DDC Mendhar A, Main Farooq Ahmed, DDC BUFLIAZ, Riaz and BDCs, ACD, Abid Hussain Shah and all Block Development Officers.
