DODA: The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety in Doda district, here today.
Huge rush of people from Muslim community gathered at Eidgah to offer Eid Prayers this morning.
During his address at Eidgah Doda, Imam of Jamia Masjid Doda gave religious discourses and prayed for the well-being of people of the entire J&K as well as the prevalence of communal amity and brotherhood.
Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan, SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, MC Chairman Ved Gupta, Dy. Director Employment Doda Idrees Lone and other senior civil and police officers were present on the occasion.
The DC extended warm greetings to all fellow citizens particularly Muslim Brethren and hoped that the festival with tradition of giving and sharing, enriches our lives with a spirit of brotherhood and empathy for the deprived, helpless and needy people.
People in the district thronged the markets in huge numbers with children, buying things besides greeting each other. Eid Prayers were also held in other towns and villages throughout the district.
RAMBAN: Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety across Ramban district, here today.
The main congregations took place at Jamia Masjid Sharif Ramban and Eidgah, Banihal, Gool and Batote, where hundreds of devotees performed Namaz-e-Eid and prayed for peace, prosperity and development of UT as well as the country.
Elaborate arrangements were put in place by the District and Police Administration for smooth celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
Eid Namaz was also offered at other mosques of the town and its outskirts including, mosques of Chandrog, Maitra and Upper Ramban.
On the occasion, officers of District Administration extended greetings to the Muslim brethren. The Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Sharma greeted the people of Ramban and said that such occasions would promote unity, communal harmony and brotherhood in the UT as well as in the district.
The festival was also celebrated in Banihal, Sangaldan, Ramsoo, Ukhral, Batote, Gool and Rajgrah.
KISHTWAR: The Kishtwar district has witnessed the grand celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr by the Muslim community with an atmosphere of religious fervor and gaiety on Saturday, marking the end of the holy month of Ramzan.
The day began with congregational Eid prayers held at Jamia Masjid and other mosques of Kishtwar town and other mosques across the district from 8 AM to 9 AM and the prayers of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Amongst the attendees were top brass officers of the civil, Army and police administration, including Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav, SSP Kishtwar Khalil Ahmed Poswal, ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal,ADC Inderjeet Singh Parihar,ASP Kishtwar Rajinder Singh, Chairman Auqaf/ACP Kishtwar Zakir Hussain Wani, President Municipal Council Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Najjar and others.
On the occasion, they extended their warm greetings to the people and wished them well-being and prosperity on this auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Highlighting the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr, they emphasized that this festival marks the end of the holy month of Ramzan, a time of fasting and prayer, and inspires individuals to work towards building a compassionate, harmonious, peaceful, and prosperous society.
DC Kishtwar expressed his hope that the festival would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and bring greater amity and tranquility to the secular social fabric of Kishtwar.
The officers of the civil, Army and police administration remained present from the morning and looked after the arrangements and security to ensure smooth celebrations.
This grand celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr is a testament to the rich culture and traditions of the Muslim community in Kishtwar, who continue to uphold the values of communal harmony and peaceful coexistence.
