Lt. Gen RS Reen delivers expert talk at NIT Srinagar

Srinagar : An alumnus from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar, Lt. Gen RS Reen on Monday delivered an expert talk on “Role of Engineers in nation building and technology adoption initiatives through incubators and startups for finding solutions to region-specific engineering problems.”
Accoridng to a statement issued from Public Relations Office NIT Srinagar, the function was presided over by Director NIT Srinagar; Prof (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal, who was Chief Guest on the occasion, Institute’s Registrar, Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari was ‘Guest of Honor’ on the occasion.
On the occasion, Prof (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal said such lectures are aimed to expose students to a variety of topics beyond their curriculum and provide a platform to interact and exchange ideas with eminent experts.
Institute’s Registrar, Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari said such lectures will not only benefit students but would also help them to explore more career options in their future.
He said such lectures are aimed to stay current, learn new skills, and connect with other professionals in your field. They are an essential aspect of academic growth and students should take advantage of such things, Prof. Bukhari said.
The event was attended by more than 100 participants and it was coordinated by Dr. Ranjeet Kumar Rout, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Lt. Gen is a 1986 batch officer and an alumnus of Indian Military Academy, Deharadun. The Officer has done BE (Electrical) from NIT Srinagar and has specialization in Radio Engineering and Post-Graduation in Communication Engineering from MC EME, Secunderabad.
The Officer is currently holding the appointment of Director General of Quality Assurance at HQ DGQA, New Delhi. For his dedication to duty, he was awarded COAS Commendation Card and DG DGQA Commendation Card.
Lt. Gen has also commanded workshops in J&K and Eastern Command. The Officer has also been Senior faculty at Defence Institute of Quality Assurance, Bangalore.
In his key speech, Lt. Gen RS Reen focused on the crucial role that engineers play in nation-building and how incubators and startups can be utilized to find solutions to region-specific engineering problems.
“Engineers play a critical role in nation-building and technology adoption initiatives through incubators. They are instrumental in developing innovative solutions to address various societal and economic challenges, and their expertise and technical skills are essential for translating ideas into reality,” he said.

A formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ranjeet Kumar Rout to eminent expert. He said such sessions will be conducted in the future so that more students will benefit from these initiatives.
