Anantnag: Additional District Development Commissioner, (ADDC) Bashir Ahmad Wani on Wednesday presided over the block Diwas held at Bijbehara block in Mini Secretariat Bijbehara.
The PRIs & general public put forth their demands and issues before the ADDC which include stopping of sand excavation at source point of Jablipora canal which will hamper the flow of irrigation water supply to canal besides demanded new panchayat Ghar for Jablipora, sanitation of Pazalpora and adjacent areas, restoration of Pandith Hamam Majid road, proper power supply during sehri and iftiyar, removal of encroachment on Zirpora Veeri road, guage for Ardwani Nallah to be used during floods, restoration of Chandpora Cheenigund road, restoration of drain at Ganie Pora, removal of encroachment of edigah Sangam Natipora etc.
ADC while addressing the gathering said that district administration is taking every effort to address the issues of the general and genuine nature. He said that mass participation and positive response of people is the indicator of the fact that block Diwas fulfilled its goal.
He gave on spot direction to concerned departments for redressal of issues projected in Block Diwas. He thanked the people for their participation and turning the programme into an interacting cum participatory event.
The programme was attended by BDO Bijbehara block Tehsildar, PRI members and other officers of line departments besides the large number of locals.
It is pertinent to mention here that Block Diwas was also held in block Anantnag which was presided over by District programme officer POSHAN (ICDS). Concerned officer assured participants that their grievances shall be addressed while resolving some of the issues on spot.
