Says “Govt schools offer modern amenities and improved infra, 1000 new kindergartens established with high-quality furniture, Teaching Learning Material”

“Spl Aya’s engaged by SAMAGRA to provide care in new kindergartens”

Jammu : The Counselling Cell of the Directorate of School Education Jammu organised a webinar and question-and-answer session under the series “Aao Baat Karein” in light of the ongoing enrollment drive across all ten districts of Jammu division. Director School Education Jammu, Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma, was the guest speaker on the occasion.
Dr Sharma spoke about the importance of education and the need to enroll out-of-school children back into the mainstream education system. The aim of the enrollment drive is to enroll more students in government schools to achieve universal enrollment and retention while ensuring that no child over three years old is left behind. He noted that government schools have highly educated and well-trained staff compared to private schools.
Dr Sharma also highlighted the advantages of government schools, including improved infrastructure and modern amenities such as smart classrooms, CAL Labs, Atal Tinkering Labs, counselling cells, happiness zones, sports infrastructure with expert coaching, kindergartens, playgrounds, well-equipped libraries and laboratories, art and craft rooms, vocational courses and scholarships. Students are also provided with free textbooks and other learning materials as well as mid-day meals to maintain their nutrition levels.
Dr Sharma urged stakeholders to inform the public about various schemes, scholarships, facilities and benefits provided by the government in schools. This would enable parents to make an informed choice about enrolling their children in government schools. Special attention is being paid to children with special needs (CWSN), for whom SAMAGRA has engaged Special Educators trained in providing special care.
Additionally, 1000 new kindergartens have been established this year, providing children with high-quality furniture, swings and Teaching Learning Material (TLM). Special Aya’s have been engaged by SAMAGRA for this purpose.
Dr Sharma expressed hope that the current enrollment drive would be an improvement over last year’s successful drive if the teaching community and other staff members work together diligently.
