SIU produces charge sheet in militancy related cases: Police

Jammu : State Investigation Unit ( IU) Jammu Zone on Monday produces Challan in one case and initiated the Letter Rogatory (LR) in another case to investigate the cases related to Militancy and other unlawful activities.
In a statement issued on Monday Police said that Government has set up separate State Investigation Units (SIU) in J&K and all the cases falling in the category “A” have been entrusted to chief investigating officers (CIOs) not below the rank of Dy.SP to investigate the cases in time bound and in professional manner, adding therein that SIU Jammu under the supervision of DIG SIU Jammu Zone has launched a special drive against elements (militants) by firstly getting Non Bailable Warrant (NBA) issued against the 13 militants . “The accused against whom Non Bailable Warrant (NBA) has been issued are- 1. Shahnawaz Kanth @ Munna @Umer S/o Abdul Rasheed R/o Hullar Kishtwar 2. Nayeem Ahmed @ Amir/ Gazi S/o Gh. Nabi Gundna R/o Near Jamia Masjid Kishtwar 3. Mohd Iqbal @BilaI S/o Mohd Akber Butt R/o Near Kichloo Market Kishtwar 4. Shahnawaz @ Nayeem S/o Gh. Mohd R/o Chirool Padyarna 5. Javid Hussain Giri @ Muzamil S/o Mohd Amin Giri R/o Kundali Pochal 6. Bashir Ahmed Mughal S/o Gh. Qadir Mughal R/O Jugna Keshwan 7. Gazi-ul-Din S/o Mohd Ayoub Gujjer R/o Jugna Keshwan 8. Sattar Din @ Rajab @ Saifullah S/O Mehar Din Gujjer R/O Jugna Keshwan 9. Imtiyaz Ahmed @ Dawood S/o Aziz Mohd Sheikh R/o Banderna Kishtwar 10. Shabir Ahmed S/o Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din R/o Kither Bonjwah 11. Mohd Rafiq Keen S/o Bashir Ahmed Keen R/O Patnazi Bonjwah and 12. Muzaffer Ahmed S/o Abdul Ahmed Dev R/o Semna Colony Zewar Kishtwar and 13. Azad Hussain S/o Abdul Majeed R/o Affani Padder”, reads the police statement. Police in it’s statement also said that it has initiated the process of letter Rogatory through CIO of the case by Dy. SP PC Kishtwar Vishal Sharma.
Stating the CIO Dy.SP PC Kathua Tilak Raj Bhardwaj on Monday produced challan in case FIR No. 383/2022 U/S 120-B/121/122 IPC, 4/5 Explosive Act, 17/18/20/23/38 ULAP Act of P/S Kathua before the Court of NIA Jammu against two militants namely 1) Zakir Hussain Bhat @ Umar Farooq S/O Ali Mohd R/O Near Govt. Primary School Malad, Tehsil Lohai Malhar, District Kathua and 2) Gulam Farid @ Farid Bhai S/O Mohd Shadi Bhatt R/O Bhimber Pakistan who were involved in unlawful activities to flourish the militancy related activities in J&K, Police in it’s statement further said that during the onset of the militancy in the J&K, a large number of Militants have crossed over to Pakistan and are now actively involved in reviving militancy in J&K by either sending arms and ammunition through drones or by recruiting new youth through social media and other mode of communication.
“DIG SIU Jammu has impressed upon all his CIOs to investigate every case in a thorough and professional manner so that all the militants wanted in their cases could be arrested and those who have sneaked into Pakistan and are actively waging war against the country can be cornered either by issuing red notice through Inter-pol or by issuing LR through the Court of law”, reads the Police Statement, adding that “Further, more Challans against the militant involved in UAPA cases of SIU Jammu Zone are expected to be produced before the Court of law in a couple of weeks time”.
