Srinagar : Police has said that two militant associates linked with militant outfit LeT were on Saturday arrested by it in Sumlar area of Bandipora and incriminating materials and 2 Chinese grenades were also recovered from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on specific inputs about the movement of militant associates, Police alongwith Army (14RR) & CRPF (3rdBN) at a checkpoint established at Sumlar near Fisheries Farm Bandipora intercepted two suspected persons identified as Abrar Ahmad Wani @Abu Qadir and Danish Pervaiz, both residents of Sumlar Bandipora.
Stating that during checking two Chinese grenades and other incriminating materials were recovered from the possession of the above named accuse, Police in it’s statement said that the said accused persons have been arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody. Police in it’s statement furthermore said a case vide FIR No. 40/2023 has been registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Bandipora, adding therein that further investigation has been initiated.
