Srinagar : Police in Awantipora on Wednesday under Civic Action Programme inaugurated one-day Volley Ball Tournament at Lariyar Tral.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, 8 teams from various places of Police District Awantipora participated in this tournament. At the conclusion of the tournament, the winner team as well as runner up team were felicitated by SSP Awantipora Ajaz Ahmed Zargar with Trophies, Medals, Certificates and cash prizes besides, participating certificates among all the participating teams.
On this occasion, the SSP Awantipora congratulated the winner/runner up teams and expressed that Police is committed to give boost to the sports and other youth development activities in the area and transform/mould the sportsmen in the right direction. He further stated that sports activities are important for personality development, positivity, good health and keeps the individual away from the negative forces.
