NIT Srinagar signs MOU with SAP Automations India

Srinagar: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with S.A.P. Automations India Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi to enhance Research and Development in the hybridization of Ultra Low Energy, Geothermal Heating & Cooling.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office NIT, Srinagar here, the MoU was signed between Director, NIT Srinagar Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal and Mr. Arijit Ghosh, M.D. S.A.P Automations (I) Pvt. Ltd.
Institute’s Registrar Syed Kaiser Bukhari, In-charge Dean R&C and Dean FW Prof. G.A. Harmein, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Shameem Ahmad Lone, Asst. Prof. MED Dr. Abhijit Dey, Dr. Asadur Rahman, Asst. Prof., EED and Asst. Registrar (Legal) Mr. Mohammad Hazik among other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
As per the MOU, both organizations NIT Srinagar and S.A.P. will have collaboration for enhancing Research and Development in the area hybridization of Ultra Low Energy Buildings combining with geothermal or aerothermal space conditioning, and solar.
Director, NIT Srinagar Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal termed signing of this MoU with S.A.P. Automations India as historic and stated that it will enhance R&D in hybridization of Ultra Low Energy.
“We are confident that this partnership will help us produce industry-ready graduates who are prepared to contribute towards the fast-growing global society,” he said.
Prof. Sehgal said both institutions will share their respective facilities, resources and manpower. Training, project site visits in order to promote industry and research interaction along with actual site experience in the areas of cooperation, he said. On the occasion, Arijit Ghosh, Managing Director S.A.P Automations expressed his gratitude to Director NIT Srinagar Prof. Sehgal for the Institute collaboration. “We are happy to sign this MoU between the two stakeholders and it will boost the mutual coordination. I am confident that this partnership will help us reach out desired results,” he said.
Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari said the signing of this MoU will bring both organizations closer to serving the society and will provide first-hand exposure to our students.
He said this joint collaboration will help to reach out to student beneficiaries in both J&K and Ladhak. Both NIT and S.A.P Automations will act as a bridge between society and government.
Prof. Bukhari said NIT Srinagar and S.A.P. Automations will work together to identify best research projects of mutual interest that could be financed from R&D funding agencies or Govt. from other agencies under their respective CSR programmes.
Dr. Abhijit Dey, Assistant Professor Mechanical Engineering Department, and Dr. Asadur Rahman Assistant Professor Electrical Engineering Department will be the coordinators at NIT Srinagar.
As per MOU, both institutions will collaborate to study, review and advice upon the design and development of hybridization of Ultra Low Energy Buildings combining with Geothermal or Aerothermal space conditioning, and coupled solar PV as primary RE, in an effort to correctly implement the technology in the country.It further reads that both parties will work together and learn ways of implementation of the Geothermal Technology whose experience shall be used by both the partners through research findings on to the reduction of energy consumption, reduction of carbon and emission, and reduction of refrigerant use in space conditioning, completely in line with ICAP.
