DC Kupwara inspects various schools on first day of opening

DC Welcomes students; inspects school infrastructure, class work

Kupwara : Schools in frontier district Kupwara presented a festive look on Wednesday on their opening after winter vacations. The jubilant students dressed in uniforms were seen heading to respective schools in the morning, meeting and interacting with their fellow students and the teachers.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr Doifode Sagar Dattatray visited various Schools of the district to welcome the students and inspect the smooth re-opening of schools and resumption of physical class work.
Accompanied by Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Abdul Hamid Fani, the DC visited various schools including, Government Primary School Batergam, Government UPS Poshpora, and Government Middle school Mougalpora.
The DC welcomed the students by presenting bouquets and sweets and interacted with the students and staff.
At Primary School Batergam, DC congratulated students, parents and teachers. He said, “By improving quality education under the Aspirational district programme the District Administration has added the infrastructure, drinking water facilities and functional toilet blocks”.
He said Government Schools have become model schools now and there is saturation in infrastructure in most of the schools. Where there is lack of playgrounds and other infrastructure in government schools, I have directed BDOs to construct playfields and other infrastructure for such schools under MGNREGA convergence plan, added the DC.
There is vast improvement in education standards in Kupwara district and the District Administration will leave no stone unturned to get the No. 1 rank in Education sector under Aspirational district ranking” DC said.
While sending his message to parents on reopening of schools, DC said that parents have to play their role in keeping the children away from mobile phones and develop their interest towards self study, General knowledge, sports and personality development. Parents have to give some time to their children, he added.
At UPS Poshpora, the DC checked the availability of class room facilities and interacted with two new- comer students Haidar Ashraf and Momen Ashraf who were Wednesday admitted in the school.
DC inspected the Kitchen garden of the school and directed the school management to sow the Tomato, Radish, Turnip, Pumpkin, Bottle gourd seeds in the coming sowing season.
At Middle school Mougalpora, DC directed the BDO to construct the remaining patch of fencing of the school.
He expressed satisfaction over the successful implementation of Zimadari project in the district which has made a visible impact on the overall look up of all the 1845 schools of the district in one go.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat also visited various schools including Higher Secondary School Drugmulla and welcomed the students and witnessed the school opening ceremony.
