Srinagar/Sept/7: One person who was injured in a grenade explosion at Jehangir Chowk this evening succumbed to his injuries while four other persons are undergoing treatment at SMHS Hospital here.
Official sources said that one Maqsood Ahmad Shah of Budgam district was critically injured in the grenade explosion and he has succumbed to his injuries. The sources said that four other persons including a woman and auto driver are injured and they are being treated at the SMHS Hospital.
Reports said police are investigating whether slain Budgam was grenade thrower or a common civilian. A police official who was at incident spot told GNS: “As per preliminary investigation that we conducted, he (slain man) tried to hurl grenade which however exploded near him and he sustained grievous injuries.”(GNS)
