Famed Askini Bhaderkashi Utsav starts at high note in Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah: The famed Winter Carnival ‘AskiniBhaderkashiUtsav’ started on Friday here in Jai Valley amid snow-clad mountains and enchanting scenery under the sparkling skies.
The 2-day Utsav was thrown open by Major General Ajay Kumar GOC, CIF (D) along with Deputy Commissioner DodaVishesh Paul Mahajan and other dignitaries.
Enthralling cultural and musical performances by popular artists and singers from within and outside Jammu and Kashmir mesmerised the tourists.
Renowned Singer, Kabul Bukhari performed live and enthralled the audience with his melodious voice. Local artists also performed and hypnotised the visitors. Diku Dance, KanChouth, Local fashion show, Lath Show, local Wrestling, Snow Cricket and other fun activities kept the people engaged. A talent hunt competition for local artists was also held during the day-long activities.
The Annual Winter Festival is being organised in Bhaderwah for the last many years and is one of the biggest annual events of the District’s tourism calendar.
The two day Utsav is being organised by Tourism department, in collaboration with BDA, District Administration, and Indian Army 4RR under AzadiKaAmritMahotsav to expose the tourists to a confluence of Bhaderwahi and Doda’s ethnic arts, crafts, cuisines, and engage them in fun activities besides entertaining them with performances by various Celebrity Artists. Large number of tourists from all over India thronged the meadows of Bhaderwah
The DC Doda said that Bhaderwah is being developed as a round the year tourist destination. J&K administration and District administration is taking care of establishing world class infrastructure to attract the tourists and give them never before experience for hospitality and natural beauty.
Major General Ajay Kumar expressed immense pleasure seeing the charm of Jai Valley and arrangements made by the administration and Indian Army. He said that peace along with better infrastructure, connectivity and quality hotels are prerequisite for tourists attraction and the Administration is working on all these parameters to make Bhaderwah one of the world class tourist places in near future.
