Srinagar/Sep,7: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday raided the residences of Hurriyat Conference (G) leaders Agha Syed Hassan also a shia cleric and Ghulam Nabi Sumji at their residences in Budgam in central Kashmir and Bijbehara in south Kashmir respectively.
Sources said teams of NIA along with a contingent of police and other forces raided the residence of Aga Hassan and Sumji and started searches. Sources said that NIA sleuths are also conducting searches in Kupwara district in north Kashmir.
The NIA raids on the residence of Aga and Sumji followed the announcement of resistance leaders to court arrest at NIA headquarters in New Delhi on September 9 against “NIA terror”. NIA is investigating a case of alleged funding in Kashmir registered on May 30.
Seven pro-freedom leaders, a businessman and two youth including a photojournalist have already been arrested by the Indian investigation agency in connection of the case. Another Hurriyat leader and a businessman have been arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED). Eight of the arrested persons are languishing in Tihar jail, Delhi while as four are in NIA and ED custody.
