GMC Jammu clarifies facts regarding BSL-3 Lab

Jammu : The Management of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, in a clarification with regard to BSL-3 Lab, has said that the work on the facility is in progress.
The Management stated that the BSL-3 for GMC Jammu, through M/s Biosafe Lab. India Pvt. Ltd at an estimated cost of 343.16 lakh, was authorized by letter No. HD/Plan/27/2015 dated 14-09-2018 through the then Joint Director Planning, H&ME, Civil Secretariat, Jammu.
All the terms and Conditions were discussed and an agreement was made on 10-Dec, 2018 between Government Medical College, Jammu & M/s Biosafe Lab India Pvt. Ltd. 3.
Further, with reference to letter No. GMC/L/PIg/3018/2018-19/6162-68 dated 24-09- 2018 a letter was received on 11-05-2021 from M/s Biosafe Lab. India Pvt. Ltd in which a demand was raised for certain items as they were not in the scope of company & asked GMC, Jammu to provide the same for completion of the works which are Electrical Power panel, Power upto LT panel including power; Earthing required for BSL-3, LT Panel 2- body, 2-neutral & Chill-2- body; DG set with AMF panel for BSL-3; R.O supply for 3 Lab 2000 Ltr./day; Rack for internet (7 points); Telephone Rack and Devices (7 No.’s)
Accordingly, the requisite DPRS alongwith the estimated cost were submitted by the concerned Engineering wings and the issue was taken up with the Administrative Department for sanction of funds. After the funds were sanctioned, the Accord of Administrative Approval in favour of Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Department Jammu for execution of the above mentioned work at an estimated cost of rupees 143.66 lacs. was sanctioned by order No. 1-GMCJ of 22 dated 13-06-2022 of which 75% of the total amount has already been paid.
As per the Executive Engineer, Mechanical, the SITC of Water Softener plant and RO Water Plant is in progress, while fabrication of Plant Room and SITC of 1 MVA Electric Substation with OLTC are complete. Similarly tenders have been issued for SITC of Power Back Up of 500 KVA capacity DG Set for HVAC System and SITC Of Distribution Panel with proper LT Cables.
