Police organizes awareness Progson drug de-addiction in Sopore, Distributes Sports kits among students

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has organisedan awareness programs on Drug De-addiction under the aegis of civic action programme (CAP) and also distributed sports kits among the students in Sopore.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the meetings were held at Police Station Bomai and Police Station Dangiwacha. The DySP DAR DPL Sopore Hilal Ahmad Hilal hosted the programme at PS Bomai while as SDPO Rafiabad Zohaib Hassan hosted at PS Dangiwacha.
During the event, the chairing officers highlighted the role of school management in identification of substance abusers and their role in remedial measures thereof. The thrust was also given to the psychological and social aspects of addiction and the detailed deliberations on various aspects of drug addiction and preventive measures especially in youth were also discussed.
All the participants on this occasion pledged to never indulge in any kind of substance abuse. The main motive behind conducting such programmeswas to provide awareness of drug de-addiction among the participants and their cooperation was sought in eradicating the social evils prevailing in the society particularly menace of drugs.
Dr. Muntazir Maqbool and Javaid Ahmad of Government Middle School Tujjar and Pir Basharat of Dangiwacha delivered the lectures on awareness programmes. Furthermore the chairing officers also highlighted the role of parents and said that parents have a greater responsibility in social development of a child as they act as the first teachers and guides of their wards. Concluding the event, Cricket &Sports Kits were also distributed among the participants. The participants on this occasion thanked Police for conducting such awareness programmes and building a bridge of trust between police and the youth. The programmes were attended by staff members, the members of civil society Dangiwacha and over 70 students from different schools.
