Srinagar: KCSDS Wednesday condemned the crackdown on Kashmiris by National Investigation Agency (NIA) and said that Bar Association president, Mian Qayoom being the latest victim of their ‘ investigations’ to dismantle the political struggle of Kashmiris.
“NIA is used by Delhi government as a tool of harassment, pressure tactics and torture against the Kashmiris to obtain their surrender,” KCSDS in a styatement issued here on Wednesday said.
The spokesman said that Mian Qayoom is slated to appear before the Supreme Court (SC) to defend the onslaught on article 35A which commits government of India to protect the residual sovereignty of the state. “Involving him in unwarranted investigations at this point of time is to deflect his attention from the case and harass him with uncalled for questionings,” spokesman said, adding that this is part of the ‘so-called’ comprehensive plan of the GoI to tighten the nooze around Kashmiris section wise- first the resistance activists, then businessmen and now the prominent lawyer and try to rob them of whatever is left of their unique identity i.e land on the one hand and on the other to suppress the rights’ movement with iron fist which has seen fourfold intensity from 2016.
“These cheap and tortuous tactics are not going to yield any results but further widen the wall of hatred and anger against the Indian state. Sooner the government realizes this the better for her as the resolution of Kashmir issue is inevitable for building just and lasting peace in the region,” spokesman said, adding that without wasting further time in generating untold sufferings for Kashmiris in particular, the government must initiate a tripartite result oriented dialogue to resolve the issue in accord with the universal principles of justice, human rights, equity and fair play.
