DHEW-Mission Shakti B’gam conducts Awareness/ Outreach Prog at Block Chadoora

Budgam: The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mission Shakti Budgam in collaboration with Special cell for Women Budgam on Friday conducted an awareness camp cum outreach programme at Panchayat Halqa Namthal, Repora, Sogam and Wagam of Block Chadoora.
The team highlighted the working and functioning of the District Social Welfare department at district level. They also raised awareness on different schemes like Pension schemes, Scholarship schemes, Prosthetic Aids, SMAS etc.
The team threw light on Women empowerment schemes available at District level such as DHEW, OSC, WHL 181, Shelter Home, Marriage Assistance scheme, Ladli Beti, PMMVY, Employment generation schemes such as Tajeswani, Mumkin, PMEGP, etc.
The team also provided awareness regarding updated schemes, criteria and documentation. It also gave detailed information on how DHEW-Mission Shakti is playing an effective role by providing awareness/ training among young female folks to generate self-employment by taking advantage of available schemes at district level.
The team briefed about Drug Addiction, its effects, treatment under the banner NashaMukht Bharat Abhiyan and also raised awareness and sensitized the masses regarding prevalence of gender bias and role of community in eradicating it under the scheme BBBP.
At the end of the programme, blankets among girl children were distributed under this initiative of BBBP.
The programme was attended by local women, sarpanchs, panchs and children.
At the end, many women were linked under different schemes and pamphlets of all helplines were distributed among women folk.
