Doda : Weekly Block Diwas Public Outreach Programme was held on Wednesday at four places across District Doda, where teams of officers listened to the issues and grievances of the people
The grievances redressal camps were held at Government High School Dhroyouth, Tehsil Kahara Sub Division Thathri; PanchayatChinyas, Sub Division Gandoh; PanchayatRanka, Sub Division Assar and Subar Nag Temple Ground Krehi, PanchayatJalga (Chinta Valley), Block Bhaderwah, Sub District Bhaderwah.
Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan along with BDC Chairperson Bhaderwah Omi Chand, ADC, Dr R K Bharti; ADC Bhaderwah, ChowdharyDil Mir; CEO 4RR, ACD, Dy Director Employment, ACP, and other District and sectoral officers listened to the public grievances at Subar Nag Temple Ground Krehi, PanchayatJalga, (Chinta Valley) Block Bhaderwah, Sub District Bhaderwah.
Several public delegations, individuals besides PRI members projected the demands and problems being faced by the local public. The major demands projected by the public include Sanctioning of Tehsil Office at Chinta, Doctors/ Staff and X-Ray machine for Hospital in the area, Road connectivity to unconnected areas, Separate Receiving Station for Chinta, Sanitation and toilets for Temples in Chinta Valley, Tourist Hut at Chinta, early completion of Jai- Kahara Road etc
The DC said that Block Diwas is aimed at getting first hand appraisal of the problems and developmental aspirations of the people. He informed that the District Administration has started unique initiatives, like DC Online, ApkaTehsildarApkeyGaon Mai, and other like programmes to reach out to the people and solve their genuine proble DC urged the public to come up with best Home Stays, save forest and natural beauty to attract more tourists in the valley. He called upon the field functionaries of different departments to work in close coordination to ensure prompt delivery of essential services.
The DC encouraged the People to learn to avail Online Services for efficient, transparent and corruption free governance.
The DC assured people that their demands will be redressed on priority by mobilizing all available resources. He said that the Government can bring inclusive development only when the public participates actively in all the welfare and developmental activities.
At all other designated locations, the daylong Block Diwas proceedings were witnessed. Public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands.
They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.
The Presiding officers of the Block Diwas gave patient hearing to the issues and demands and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.
