Lucknow: Minister of Railways visited Indian Railways Institute of Transport Management (IRITM), Lucknow and interacted with probationer IRTS and other Railway officers of Norther Railways, North-Eastern Railways and RDSO
Highlights of MR interaction at IRITM are detailed below:-
1. No merger of services in Railways.
2. Bottleneck for coal, passengers, food grains etc. needs to be removed.
3. India is heading toward 5 trillion-dollar economy, we have to change fundamentally.
4. There will be no problems for fund allocation.
5. Needs to expand the network of railways.
6. Railway to focus on passengers travelling from 250 kms to 1000 kms.
7. Cargo should not wait for train, train should wait for cargo.
8. No privatization and corporatization of Railways.
9. Take better steps to improve Goods shed and terminals.
10. There should be proper ratio between private participation.
11. No shortcut, focus on 2-3 items at a time and maintain integrity.
