Jammu : A four-member NAAC Peer Team conducted the third cycle of Accreditation, which arrived in the college on Feb 7, 2003 for a two day visit.
The team comprised chairperson, Prof. RamachandraGowdaMuninarayana, Vice- Chancellor, Belagavi Karnataka, Member Coordinator, Prof. SudhiraChandel, Physical Director, Devi AhillyaVishwavidyalaya, Indore, MP and DrSajimolAugstine, Principal, St. Teresa College Cochin Kerala.
On the first day of the visit, the Peer team assessed the different facets of the college like teaching & learning facilities, co curricular activities, extension activities, research work, and infrastructure facilities such as laboratories, classrooms, library, research hub centres, etc.
They also met with members of the Governing body, Alumnae of the college, Parents of students, Members of the Presidium and other stakeholders. On the second day, the team visited and assessed the functioning of the hostel facility, examination wing and administrative office.
The Exit Meet was held on the second day at 5.00 PM in the Auditorium. Formal welcome address was delivered by the Principal of the College Prof (Dr) S.P. Sarswat followed by a brief interaction of teaching staff with the members of the NAAC peer team.
The Chairperson highlighted the strengths of the college that was reflected in the assessment report. He said that it was good to see that teaching and non teaching staff the College was working as one unit, which will fetch good results for the institution. “I am overwhelmed to see that the members of the Governing Body, alumni, parents and students have high opinion about the chair and the institution,” he added. The absence of complaints from any quarter shows good leadership qualities of the chair.
He concluded his address by saying that work with the same zeal and keep up the good work in the same manner. He congratulated the Principal, IQAC convenor, IQAC members and the team of GCW Parade for their devotion and untiring efforts. Vote of thanks was presented by Convener IQAC Prof. S.K. Dhar.
