Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party led by SHO Police Station Boniyar under the supervision of SDPO Uri Showkat Ali arrested a drug peddler at Nowshera, Boniyar and during checking recovered 105 grams of Charas like substance from the possession of the above named accused identified as Tahir Ahmad Naikoo S/O Abdul Rehman Naikoo R/O Javind Nowshera, Boniyar and shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Police in it’s statement also said that a case under relevant sections of law has also been registered at Police Station Boniyar and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law and reassure the people on efforts being made to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
