Bandipora: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Wednesday said the administration mulls construction of Administrative Complex, Sports Stadium for Block Aloosa.
While interacting with the public at Aloosa Village in Bandipora district during Public interaction programme under Block Diwas, DrOwais said the fires are common especially in winters and it is not possible to have a fire station in every village.
He said though the administration has already moved an intend to the government for establishment of a fire station in Aloosa, but as an immediate measure, the district administration may install fire extinguishers at certain locations to avoid major damage till the fire tenders arrive.
He said the disaster management and fire service department is also training local volunteers at every Panchayat to be the first responders during such disasters so that damages are avoided. He urged people to take precautions to avoid fire like incidents especially in winters.
Earlier people raised the demand of establishment of Fire service in the Aloosa block.
DrOwais also called for strict action against people who are polluting water bodies in the village.
He asked the officers of the Rural Development to devise a proper waste management plan for the block and identify a particular spot where garbage can be collected and disposed scientifically.
DrOwais also took feedback regarding water supply and implementation of JalJeevan Mission. He asked the concerned officers to expedite the work on pending projects so as to ensure that every household in the block gets a pure tapped drinking water.

Earlier ACP Bandipora briefed the audience about the ongoing developmental projects in the block. He said a special focus is being laid on sanitation in Panchayat and Rs 2 lakh has been provided to every halka to clean the drains and rivulets besides dumping the garbage at suitable place.
He said this activity will be followed by providing dustbins and later two persons in villages will be selected to collect wastes everyday to ensure a clean village.
On the occasion locals presented their grievances before the Deputy Commissioner and sought his intervention for redressal.
Apart from other issues, people stressed on bringing the Wullar lake on tourism map, upgradation of PMGSY roads, availability of pure drinking water and ration, availability of subject teachers in Schools, Solid Waste management in Panchayats, renovation of water bodies, macadamization of roads and filling of potholes besides highlighting the issue regarding growing menace of drug abuse among youth.
They also demanded a proper waste management plant in the block and raised the issue of lack of administrative block for offices in the block.’
The residents also demanded macdamization of Aloosa-Quil road, construction of a stadium.
Dr Owais gave patient hearing to the audience and assured them that their grievances will be taken to logical conclusion.
While highlighting the role of elected representatives and general public, the DC said elected representatives and general public are essential pillars of the grassroots level democratic process and urged the representatives to prioritize works as per needs of area in planning process. He said the PRIs have been strengthened to empower the people so that they can take their own decisions with regard to development at grass roots.
He stressed officers to make extensive awareness campaigns regarding the online service and strengthening janbhagidari.
Dr. Owais said that people do not have to run from pillar to post to get their work done and urged the public to avail the benefits of online services.
The Deputy Commissioner assured that an administrative block will be constructed so that all offices can be accommodated at a single location for the convenience of the general public.
He said a Rs 200 Cr project is under execution to beautify Wullar Lake and efforts are on to bring the lake on tourism map. He said several measures have already been taken to attract tourists including development of parks around Wullar, dredging and cleaning of the lake and construction of Boulevard.
DrOwais also highlighted the ill effects of drug menace in the society and urged people to fight the war against drug abuse together by cooperating with the law enforcing agencies.’
Similar Public interaction programmes were held across the district in every block that were attended by a number of locals who presented their grievances before the officers.
