Bandipora: A team of the Legal Metrology Department headed by Assistant Controller Legal Metrology on Saturday imposed a fine of Rs. 1500 on three erring shopkeepers during an inspection of market places of Sumbal and adjacent areas.
The team conducted inspections of 25 shops out of which 3 shops were found violating Legal Metrology laws.
The defaulters were booked and a fine of Rs 1500 was imposed on spot on erring traders.
During the drive the shopkeepers were made aware regarding single window online services provided by the Department.
The officials of LMD informed that the department is keeping strict watch on all markets of the district and urged owners of business establishments to follow rules and regulations without fail.
