Ganderbal: The men from Municipal Council (MCG) Ganderbal despite all odds, repaired manholes in Gangerhama ward after the Deputy Commissioner, Shyambir visited the area and took notice of the affected drainage system.
The DC recently visited various wards of the Municipal Council and met locals to listen to their grievances and genuine demands.
The DC gave on the spot directions to the Executive Officer MCG, NaveedAijaz Khan accompanying him. Acting on the directions, EO put his efficient men to work and the drain in Gangerhama ward was repaired immediately and manholes were installed within two days only.
The locals lauded the instant work and grievance redressal by the MCG and expressed their gratitude to the DC and the EO.
Meanwhile, DC had also advised violators to refrain from dumping wastes on the road sides and other open areas. He said that the locals should make use of the installed waste bins and dumpers for the proper disposal and waste management.
The violators in fact produced in writing that they will fully abide by the directions and also admitted that they will neither repeat their mistakes nor will they allow anyone to litter around.
