DC Doda interacts with functionaries of ICDS Deptt, Supervisor attached for poor performance

Tehsildars/ CDPOs asked to inspect AWCs, report in 15 days

Doda: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan on Friday interacted with the functionaries of the ICDS here at a meeting of CDPOs, Supervisors held in the Conference Hall of DC office complex. All the Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) from across the district joined the meeting virtually.
The DC held threadbare discussion with regard to the implementation of various deliverables and schemes of ICDS and received updated status and feedback from concerned officers.
The meeting was informed that the District has 1396 functional Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) and the department has achieved 75% ADHAAR generation of children between 0 to 6 years. It was further apprised that more than 95% funds have been utilised under Nutrition head in the district.
The DC asked DPO ICDS to rationalise the posting of supervisors to cover all the Anganwadi Centres. The DC directed the ICDS Project Officers to upgrade their working and ensure that the targets set under deliverables be achieved before 28th of February. He asked them to ensure visibility of Anganwadi Centres by painting walls and other means.
The DC directed the Tehsildars to visit Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) in their jurisdiction unannounced within fifteen days and report on their functioning. “The CDPOs shall visit all AWCs in their jurisdiction and send geotaged photographs along with details” he asked.
On the report of the concerned CDPO, a supervisor of Thathri was attached in the office of Deputy Commissioner. The DPO was directed to report in writing about the progress and performance of the attached Supervisor along with comments on his character and integrity for further course of action.
The DC instructed for the third-party audit of AnganwadiCentres and instructed DPO ICDS Doda to send the details of closed, non functional, and poor performing AWCs in the district.
The DC asked officers to conduct community based events, PoshanAbhiyaan, every month and provide awareness regarding basic health principles among the stakeholders.
