GCW Parade hosts 3 day workshop to mark celebration of 13th National Voters Day

Jammu: Electoral Literacy Cub of Government College for Women, Parade Ground Jammu organized a three day workshop to mark the celebration of 13th National Voters Day on the theme “Nothing like voting, I vote for sure.”
The programme was held under the patronage of Dr. S.P. Sarswat, Principal of GCW Parade Ground, Jammu.
Addressing the students, he highlighted that this day was observed to commemorate the foundation day of Election Commission of India and to encourage the young voters to cast their votes, responsibly and mandatorily. He also stressed that awareness about voting rights not only encourages the youth to participate in the electoral process but also helps in strengthening our democratic tradition.
The Club organized a series of activities like Poster making, Rangoli making and Slogan writing competitions.
The competitions were judged by Dr. RituMagotra, Associate Professor and HOD English, Dr. ShobanaSambyal, Associate Professor from Department of Zoology.
An awareness rally was also organized within the campus. The whole event was coordinated by Dr. ShandilyaPerminderKour, Convenor ELC, Dr. JasmeetKour, Prof. PreetiMahajan, Prof. Shrotika Rajput, Prof. ShivaniSlathia, Dr. Asha Rani and Prof. Mohd. Arif. The workshop concluded with the pledge taken by the Principal, faculty members and the students of GCW Parade Ground, Jammu.
