We have read the story about pumpkins, green peas, crunchy beans, pink onions, chillies, red tomatoes, orange carrots and purple brinjals. These vegetables were excited as they were going to choose their king. One by one all the vegetables came to the centre and spoke about why they should be the king. Only the brinjal was left and at last brinjal decided to spoke and confidently in a calm voice asked. What do i have on my head? Are not you seeing the crown? I was born with it. Really it was their king. All the revenue officers and officials are busy these days with the retrieving of state and kacharia land from encroachers. No doubt they are working hard by leaps and bounds especially from patwaries to Tehsildars. People are seeing them in this process till dusk. This hard job done by them is remarkable. Almost all big patches which were without any kind of constructions and were fenced only were retrived and in this regard each tehsil makes statements each day. Like in Anantnag district total encroached state land including Roshni land was 43613 kanals out of which 23205 kanals were retrieved till today meaning 47 percent of this land is yet to be removed. Similarly out of 34309 kanals of Kacharia land 39 percent of this land is yet to be retrieved. This means district administration and revenue officials including officers are doing best job. Like in district Anantnag revenue department in other districts too is busy with retrieving this land from encroachers. Honourable Supreme court and government of union territory one can say poor people friendly has advised the department not to touch with residential houses on this type of land is a kind of relief to the department.
Till today the retrieving drives remained peacefully in the entire UT.But when the revenue teams will start demolishing commercial buildings constructed on this type of land it is oblivious that land mafiyas will show resentment and department should not show mercy on it.We are aware that many persons with long eyes are standing in the first line regarding encroachment. Our LG administration has made it clear and department of revenue should not go against this saying “WHO WILL BE THE KING”. Among us everyone is and will be the king only when the statements will be on facts on ground. Also it is suitable on the part of the department if more time will be given to it for completion of process smoothly. Really the department needs time. If more time given and the processes remain on facts then the department will be the King and everybody will think about Who is the real king like brinjal in the story.
