The Republic day is celebrated across the country with the spirit of people’s empowerment that is guaranteed in the constitution of the country adopted by the Parliament the highest law making body of the country on this day in 1950. The Republic Day Celebration is one of the biggest democratic festival celebrated in the world and this is a day for the Government to standby it’s commitment made to the people in yesteryears.  People witness the grandeur of the celebrations of the Republic Day in twin capital cities Srinagar and Jammu and all other district headquarters in both Kashmir Valley and Jammu Division with the hope that Government would reiterate it’s commitments on empowerment of people . So when the main motive of celebrating the Republic Day is to reiterate the commitment to democracy and People’s Empowerment, the empowerment of Youth should be the priority of  theGovernments both at the centre and as well as in the states and union territories of the country. When youth empowerment is a priority, the focus of the Government remains on the working of all the educational institutions particularly schools, colleges and universities. Since the National Education Policy announced by the Central Government two years  ago way back in 2020 is being implemented with the plans and motives to end the trauma of joblessness which grips them after completing their degrees in Colleges and Universities, the commitments on youth empowerment should be reiterated on this day.  What merits a mention here is the fact that announced with a commitment to provide quality education to all the inclusion and excellence are the two biggest hallmarks of the National Education Policy 2020 in furtherance of the causes of developing and equitable and Vibrant knowledge society. While the focus is on skill development, the motive is to build largest skilled work force of the world with a plan to reduce the increasing unemployment in the country and this is the focal point of youth empowerment by all standards of understandabilities.

Since livelihoods are set to end the deprivation of youth across the country and further the bigger causes of  people’s empowerment, let the Government reiterate it’s commitment to build biggest skilled workforce  for the world.

Under New Education Policy of the Central Government even the students of middle level have to be exposed to hands on training in vocational skills  and under this New Education Policy the Government has set the target of providing vocational skills to at least 50 per cent students by 2025 just to ensure that vocational skills acquired at school level may be further extended up to higher education level. Since livelihoods are set to end the deprivation of youth across the country and further the bigger causes of  people’s empowerment, let the Government reiterate it’s commitment to build biggest skilled workforce  for the world.
