Grievances Redressal, Awareness camps held across Doda

DC interacts with public at Jangalwar, Locals hail distt admin for electrification of Nagni Mahri village

Doda: In its endeavour to reach out to the people and resolve their concerns and grievances, District administration Dodaon Wednesday organised Block Diwas programs at PanchayatGutassa, Block Bhaderwah, Sub District Bhaderwah; PanchayatPora Paine, Sub Division Gandoh; Village Jathi, Sub Division Assar; and PanchayatJangalwar, Tehsil Phagsoo, Sub Division Thathri.
Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan along with SDM ThathriAthar Amin Zargar, BDC Chairperson Thathri, ACD DodaPhulail Singh, SE Jal Shakti Department, CMO Doda, DIO DIPR Doda, CAHO, DSHO, CEO, DSWO and other District officers presided over the event at PanchayatJangalwar. The local People in large numbers attended the Block Diwas and demanded up-gradation of Health, Education, road connectivity, water and power facilities in the area.
Responding to the demand of early construction of Degree College Thathri Building, SDM Thathri informed that the Committee established for identification of suitable land would visit the identified spots next week and submit their final report.
Regarding the filtration plant for Phagsoo, Engineers from JSD informed that tenders under JJM have been floated and construction shall start soon.
Regarding shortage of staff in schools, health institutions, construction of Sports Stadium, construction of link roads, establishment of lift irrigation system, concerned departments were instructed to come up with the technical feasibility report.
The demands for macadamisation of roads, execution of works under MGNREGA, provision of electric poles, among others were also raised by the participants. The majority of the demands projected by the public were addressed by the concerned authorities, while the DC assured the public to resolve the genuine issues under his competence within 15 days.
People of NagniMahri village credited DC Doda for fulfilling the demand of electrification of their village for the first time after independence. They also thanked the administration for widening curves and addressing other issues raised during the last public interaction at PWD Guest House Thathri.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed on involvement of the public to achieve participative Development of the district. He said that the Government is fully committed to the fast and better delivery of public services. DC speaking on the occasion said that several works are being implemented by Rural Development for welfare of the panchayats. He said it is the responsibility of the public to conduct social audits of these works and ensure that public money is being spent responsibly and for community benefit.
At other designated locations, the day-long Block Diwas proceedings witnessed Public and PRIs putting forth a range of issues/ demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.
The Presiding officers of the Block Diwas gave patient hearing to the issues and demands and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.
