Srinagar: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chairperson Syed Asiya Andrabi, who was Wednesday this week released from a jail in the winter capital of the state, was against booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Jammu jail.
Ms Andrabi was Wednesday this week released from a jail after the state High Court (HC) quashed her detention under PSA.
“The PSA against Ms Andrabi and her associate Fehmeeda Sahiba was quashed Wednesday this week by the court and the order was later served to Superintendent of Jammu District jail, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, SSP Jammu, District Magistrate and others.
“However, they were again arrested and booked under fresh PSA. Both these women separatist leaders were shifted to Jammu jail at around 1630 hrs Thursday despite ill health,” a DeM spokesperson said.
She said that the court order was disrespected as the state had allegedly asked police not to act on the directions of the court. “When the first PSA was slapped on Ms Andrabi this year, she had to be lodged at Baramulla jail as per the order. However, on the directions of the government, she was shifted to Jammu.
This time too she was again shifted to Jammu against the court directions, she alleged.
