3-drug peddlers arrested in Ang; Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers and also recovered contraband substance from their possession in Anantnag district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters here Police said that a Police party from Police Station Anantnag arrested three drug peddlers identified as Zafar Abbas Sheikh S/o Mohammad Saleem R/o Sheikh Mohalla Janglatmandi, Yasir Nazir Kadoo S/o Nazir Ah KadooR/o QaziMohalla A/P Dantar, Zubair Ahmad TurrayS/o Ghulam Nabi Turray R/o Cheeni Chowk at Achabal Adda Anantnag along with 1.2 Kgs of Charas and 06 Grams of Heroin, Stating therein further that the above named accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that police on this occasion accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated the investigation Police in the concluding para of the above referred statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood, reiterating therein that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Police in the above referred statement also reassures the people that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
