Illicit timber seized in B’gam, accused arrested: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has seized illicit timber and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime in Budgam district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters here Police said that Police Station Chadoora on receiving inputs about one person namely Abdul Gani Dar S/o Habibulla Dar R/o Gowharpora having kept illegally acquired timber at his home a police team raided the specific location and seized 17 logs of forest timber (43 Cft) from the said house, Stating therein further that the involved accused person was also arrested on the spot and has been shifted to PS where he remains in custody. Police in it’s above referred statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 03/2023 was under relevant sections of law registered at the said police station and investigation has been initiated.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement reassured the people that consistent actions against anti-social elements shall continue and reiterated that efforts are on to keep society free of crime. Police in the above referred statement also resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.
