Ramban: District Election Department Ramban, under the aegis of District Panchayat Election Officer, (Deputy Commissioner) Ramban, Mussarat Islam, on Friday conducted a series of awareness activities and rallies across the district under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Programme.
The events were organised in the Panchayats of different Blocks of the District which included PanchayatGool-A, Tanger, Gandhri, and Khari Lower A.
Hundreds of locals, officials of RDD, and PRIs took part in the SVEEP activities including the mega awareness camps and rallies. The eligible electors submitted forms for the inclusion of their names in the Panchayat Electoral Roll. The PEBOs of the concerned Panchayats also received forms for deletion, correction, and transposition from the people wherever required.
During the daylong SVEEP activities a pledge was also administered to the participants about the dissemination of awareness about the Panchayat Electoral rolls Revision in their respective areas and to get themselves registered as a voter in the electoral roll during the Panchayat Electoral Rolls Revision which is ending on January 18, 2023.
The PRIs, AEROs, and PEBOs of the concerned Blocks and Panchayats dwelt in detail about the Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision and the importance of vote in the democratic setup of the electoral process. The speakers threw light on various aspects of being a voter and urged upon the age-specific youth who shall attain the age of 18 years on January 1, 2023, to enroll themselves in the Panchayat Electoral Roll, besides further disseminating the awareness among existing voters for modification, if any.
The registration forms were also distributed and filled-in forms were received from the eligible electors during the camps.
