Block Diwas: Mega grievance redressal camp held at Safapora, DDC urges locals to take benefit of welfare schemes

G’bal: To redress the grievances of people at their door steps, the District Administration Ganderbal on Wednesday conducted a grievance redressal camp at Govt. Higher Secondary School Safapora as part of Weekly Block Diwas programme.
The camp was presided over by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Shyambir along with Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani.
The Block Diwas witnessed huge participation of people of adjoining areas and PRI members who apprised the DDC about various issues and demands pertaining to their areas for the welfare of people.
Besides, a visiting team from IIT Jammu also attended the Block Diwas following their visit to the district for assessment study of e-Government initiatives in JK. They interacted with the District Officers and discussed various issues like improvements over last two years in citizen services delivery with main focus on digitization, local issues focused by departments, trust in e-Governance and redressal strategies.
The program was attended by CPO, CEO, Manasbal Development Authority, ACD, DFO, Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal, GM, DIC, ALC, DSWO, LBM and other district and sectoral officers. DDC member Shafapora, BDC Chairperson Safapora besides Sarpanchs and Panchs were also present on the occasion.
During the proceedings of Block Diwas, PRIs and locals raised number of grievances and general demands related to play field, better roads, augmentation of water and power supply, fencing of Patwar Khana Safapora, repairing of Lar canal, removal of encroachments, dredging of irrigation canals and other issues of public importance.
Meanwhile, local contractors and Stone Quarry workers also apprised the DDC about their issues and sought his intervention for their redressal.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to all issues and grievances raised and assured timely redressal of genuine issues.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said the District Administration is ensuring timely redressal of the genuine demands and in this regard Action Taken Report of grievances raised in Block Diwas proceedings are displayed at concerned locations of blocks where weekly Block Diwas is conducted so that people are aware about the action taken on their demands and grievances.
Regarding the issue of the play field, the DDC said that the concerned Tehsildar and BDO have identified the location for development of the play field and assured the youth the work on the playground shall be started soon.
Similarly, the DDC said that the Jal Shakti Department has identified several locations for establishment of schemes and the issue of drinking water would be resolved once these schemes are commissioned.
He also urged the locals to come forward and take the benefit of government schemes especially that are meant for employment generation and other individual beneficiary schemes that are launched for the welfare of people as per their eligibility.
Earlier, various district officers of different departments including DSWO, ALC, LBM and GM, DIC made participants aware about the various welfare schemes available for the people and made them aware about the benefits and eligibility criteria for such schemes.
