Public outreach camps held at 5 locations in Doda: DC, officers meet people at Mahalla

Issues pertaining to PWD, JSD, JPDCL, FCS&CA, SWD, RDD resolved, Officers talk about welfare Schemes & pan district initiatives

Doda: To reach out to the people and resolve the grievances at their doorsteps and as a part of special initiative launched by the Government of J&K, District Administration Dodaon Wednesday organised Block Diwas programs at five different locations.
The camps were held in Block Headquarter Bhaderwah, Sub District Bhaderwah; Panchayat Kancer, Sub Division Gandoh; Block Headquarter Assar, Sub Division Assar; Panchayat Kathawa, Tehsil Phagsoo, Sub Division Thathri; and in Mahalla.
Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan along with other District officers, interacted with public and PRIs at Mahalla.
Responding to the issue of up-gradation of Shewa Dal to Mahalla road, the Ex En concerned informed that tender for the work estimated to Rs 17 crore has been floated and the work shall start soon. “New roads under PMGSY shall be taken in the habitations having more than 250 souls” the locals were asked. The officers, while responding to the issues raised by PRIs and the general public, reported that two filtration plants would come up in Mahalla under JJM soon.
Tehsildar Mahalla was directed to place a stone in the name of a person who has donated his land for the Revenue complex at Mahalla. Ex En JPDCL informed that more than 250 steel poles have been erected in the area during the current financial year.
A number of new transformers have been installed in the Tehsil and the upgradation of electricity supply shall continue in the area. The CAO informed that training camp for Mushroom Cultivation shall be held in the area in collaboration with Rural Self Employment Training Institute (R-SETI) Doda in near future.
The demands for up-gradation of JK Bank extension counter, establishment of receiving stations in the area, sports stadium in the area, staff shortage in Schools and Health institutions, early completion of work on Irrigation Canal, road for Manthori village, and other issues were also discussed in detail. The concerned officers were directed to process for early redressal of genuine demands of the Public.
Stalls were also established by the departments to showcase their activities and schemes in the Public. The ACD Doda, Dy Director Employment Doda, DSWO Doda, Chief Agriculture Officer Doda and other officers spoke on the schemes under implementation by their respective departments.
The DC, while addressing the gathering, reiterated that the area has great potential for Agriculture and Horticulture and asked the departments to promote the same for general prosperity of the area. He also urged the public to go for vegetable cultivation on scientific lines and under the technical guidance of the agriculture department to increase the farmers’ income. He also talked of Pan District initiatives and urged the public for their active participation to make Doda ADBHUT.
At BDO Headquarter Bhaderwah, the Block Diwas was chaired by BDC Chairperson Omi Chand in presence of DDC member Th. Yudhvir Singh and ADC Bhaderwah Ch. Dil Mir.
The team of officers listened to the participants and provided different services and listened to the grievances and demands of people. They resolved many issues on the spot pertaining to their respective departments. Local participants projected various demands before ADC, who assured them of early redressal.
At other designated locations, SDMs presided over the programme. Public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.
The Presiding officers of the Block Diwas gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.
