Jammu: Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Wednesday sanctioned meritorious scholarship of over rupees 10.58 lakhs in favour of 153 wards of serving police personnel.
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre PHQ Jammu here, the Police Chief according to an issued on Wednesday has sanctioned Rs 7200/- each in favour of 59 students who have secured more than 90% marks and Rs 6000 each has been sanctioned in favour of 79 students who have secured 80% to 90% marks in the Annual Examination of class 12th during the academic session of 2021-22. The amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund.
Similarly the DGP through another order issued from Police Headquarters has sanctioned meritorious scholarship of over Rs 1.60 lakh to 15 wards of serving police personnel who have secured above 80% marks in graduation and post graduation examination during the academic session of 2021-22. Rs 8500 each has been sanctioned to those 9 wards who have secured above 80% marks in graduation. While as Rs 18000 and rupees 12000 each has been sanctioned in favour of those 6 wards who have secured above 80% and above 90% marks in the annual examination of post graduation.
The Statement issued from Police Headquarters also said that Jammu & Kashmir Police has been sanctioning scholarships, rewards, for wards of martyred and serving/retired Police personnel under different schemes to boost their morale.
Police in it’s above quoted statement also said that during the current year till date scholarships over rupees 1.63 Cr have been sanctioned in favour of wards of serving/martyrs/retired police personnel and SPOs who have excelled in the annual examinations or to support them to pursue academic education.
