BGSBU organizes a symposium on India’s G20 Presidency

Rajouri : Baba Ghulam Shah University on Friday organized a symposium on “India: A role model for the world through its G20 Presidency, today”.
According to a statement issued from Public Relation Centre of BGSBU Rajouri the symposium was the first in the series of events the University has planned regarding India’s G20 presidency. Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor, BGSB University said that congratulated the countrymen on India assuming the G20’s Presidency for one year till November 30, 2023, terming it a matter of pride for every citizen of the country.
Prof Akbar said India is now chairing a group of countries whose economic potential represents 85 percent of the world’s GDP, 75 percent of the world’s trade, and two-thirds of the world’s population.
Dr. Danish Iqbal Raina, Deputy Director, Centre for Hospitality and Tourism, BGSBU delivered the lecture on the theme of the symposium.
Dr. Danish said that it was a watershed moment in the history of our country when we have assumed the presidency of the G20 group. Dr. Danish said that the world has realized potential India has in leading the globe and
provide the best solutions for various global issues.
Dr. Raina deliberated on the priority areas, India has chosen during its presidency and mentioned that the entire world is looking at India to propel its role as an emerging leader in the global scenario, where it will focus on steering global engagement, growth, and development, environmental concerns, digital economy, and infrastructure in the developing world.
A large number of students from the College of Nursing, EVS, Management studies, and other departments participated in the event. Those who were present on the occasion included faculty members and research scholars from various departments. Dr . Parvez Abdulla, Coordinator NSS presented the concluding remarks. The event was organized by the media cell of the University in collaboration with the NSS unit of the University.
