G’bal: The District Administration Ganderbal on Wednesday conducted weekly Block Diwas at Govt. High School Pati Yarmuqam for block Lar which was presided over by District Development Council Chairperson Ganderbal, NuzhatIshfaq.
The Block Diwas witnessed huge participation of people of adjoining areas and PRI members who apprised the officers about various issues and demands pertaining to their areas for the welfare of people.
The program was attended by ADDC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, ASP Ganderbal, FerozYehya, DFO Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal, TehsildarLar, BDO Lar and other district and sectoral officers.
During the proceedings of block Diwas, PRIs and locals raised a number of grievances related to better roads, augmentation of water and power supply, besides better healthcare facilities and other issues of public importance were highlighted.
The DDC Chairperson gave patient hearing to the issues raised on the occasion and assured locals that the issues raised shall be taken up with the concerned departments for redressal.
While interacting with the locals, NuzhatIshfaq said that the purpose of organizing Block Diwas was to facilitate face to face interaction between the common masses and PRIs with administration so that issues requiring intervention of district administration were disposed-off on priority, while issues involving policy matters be taken up at appropriate levels.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC said that District Administration is committed to provide all possible facilities at the doorsteps of the people especially living in far off areas and gave on-spot directions to concerned officers for the redress of all possible issues on immediate basis under their competence.
Later, DDC Chairperson and Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir laid the foundation stone of the water supply scheme at WhatshunManigam approved at the cost of Rs 558.32 lakh.
DDC Member Lar-A, SajadDurani, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Division Ganderbal, SamiullahBeigh, SarpanchManigam-A were also present on the occasion.
