Srinagar: Chairman J&K Peoples Democratic Front (JKPDF) and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has urged the Center to take Confidence Building Measures (CBM) to win hearts and minds of people of Jammu and Kashmir , instead of fiddling with thier rights gauranteed to them under the constitution of the country . He said making changes in the laws , every now and then , becomes the cause of heart burning and creates a sense of insecurity and disenchantment among the people. He said need of the hour was to strengthen the bonds of mutual trust and confidence.
According to statement issued from party headquarters here Hakeem while speaking at one day convention of PDF workers called upon the Central Government to take effective initiatives for bridging the gaps between centre and the people of Jammu and Kashmir rather hurting their sentiments by fiddling with the laws every now and day. He said political atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir was already over shadowed under the dark clouds of alienation and mistrust adding that fiddling with thier constitutional rights was adding fuel to the fire.
The Chairman District Development Council ( DDC) Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Khan also attended the convention as a special invitee. On this occasion , several political activists joined PDF and expressed thier faith on the leadership of Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen. During the convention , a threadbare discussion was held on the prevailing socio – political situation of Jammu and Kashmir . Hakeem enjoined upon to workers to work for strengthening secular and democratic values adding that certain divisive forces were trying their to divide communities on the basis of religion and region to satiate their vested political interests. PDF Chairman impressed upon the government to provide uninterrupted power supply to the people during the ongoing harsh winter months . He demanded free supply of power to the people living below poverty line ( BPL) and to the farmers who received severe financial setback in the wake of low remuneration of their fruit crop due in various fruit mandis of the country this year. He has also demanded to waive off KCC loans of all the farmers as they were unable to clear their debts due to severe financial setback this year.
