‘Parshasan Gaon Ki Aur’: DC Ramban launches Lavender cultivation at Chamalwas

DC also interacts with people, resolves public issues on spot, Urges people to participate in Good Governance week campaign from Dec 19

Ramban: To bring the governance to the people’ doorstep under “PrashasanGounkiAur” Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam on Saturday visited several panchyats in Sub-division Ramsoo and Banihal and listened to the issues of locals.
DDC Councilors, BDC Chairpersons, besides SDM Banihal, ZaheerAbass; CEO, DevAnand; CAO, Ashwani Kumar, other officers, Sarpanches, Panches besides a large gathering of farmers attended the public meetings.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner launched Lavender Cultivation at Chamalwas and encouraged the farmers to switch to innovative farming techniques to enhance their income. He also asked the youth to adopt farming as a profession and take up lucrative Mushroom cultivation, Beekeeping, Vegetable production etc.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Agriculture department to provide handholding to farmers to start cash crop cultivation so that they can earn more from their agricultural land.
Addressing a gathering of people at Chamalwas, the DC informed that the Good Governance week celebration aims to reaffirm the government’s commitment to provide people an accessible administration.
During the public hearing, the PRIs and scores of people hailing from across the Panchayats of Chamalwas attended the programme and put forth their issues.
Responding to the demands, the DC assured quality disposal of genuine issues in a time-bound manner. “The district administration is ensuring to provide all facilities to the people at their doorsteps and in this regard, necessary instructions have already been given to line departments,” he said.
The DC urged the people and PRIs to join hands with district administration to take the development to every knock and corner of the district. He also asked the officers to mobilize men and machinery to achieve the desired developmental targets under ‘ParshasanGaon Ki Aur.
Interacting with the farmers, , the DC asked them to contact the agriculture and allied departments for availing the farmer friendly schemes launched by the government and directed the field functionaries of the department to update farmers about scientific and latest techniques of cultivation.
The DC appreciated the SarpanchChamalwas Muneer Ahmed and Farooq Ahmed for their role in motivating the farming community to adopt new crops and agricultural techniques.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Khari area and inaugurated Smart Class Room at the local Government Higher Secondary School under Aspirational Block Plan.
Interacting with the students, the Deputy Commissioner advised them to take part in all activities being organized by the School Administration for their overall development.
The DC also interacted with people at Khari and noted their issues and demands and resolved most of the issues on the spot by directing the concerned officers.
