Srinagar: A speedy truck crushed twenty sheep near toll plaza lower munda area of Qazigund on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred as a large flock of sheep was moving along the Srinagar-Jammu Highway.
The speeding truck lost control and ran over the sheep, killing at least 20 of them, instantly.
When contacted SHO Qazigund said the driver has been arrested and vehicle has been seized. We have registered a case and investigation has been initiated.
SP Kulgam Shri Dhar Patil also confirmed to KNS correspondent Tasaduq Rashid that driver who earlier fled from the spot has been arrested now and case in PS Qazigund has been registered. He said vehicle was coming from Jammu going towards Srinagar. (KNS)
