DC Srinagar reviews Action Plan for removal of encroachments on NHAI, BRO, PWD, SMC, PMGSY roads

Srinagar : In order to ensure smooth ply of Traffic and pedestrian movement on roads of District, a meeting was held on Thursday under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (Chairman RTA) Srinagar, Mohammad AijazAsad here at Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.
Besides, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Syed Shabir Ahmad, the meeting among others was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, SDM East, SDM West all Tehsildars and other concerned.
At the outset, the DC took a detailed review of the plan being implemented with regard to removal of encroachments on NHAI, BRO, PWD, PMGSY, SMC roads in Srinagar District.
The DC asked the officers to follow the concerted strategy to remove all roadside encroachments in order to ensure smooth ply of transport and pedestrian movement as well and avoid chance of road accidents.
The DC asked the Revenue authorities to work in close coordination with other line Departments in this regard.
The DC asked them to launch massive anti encroachment drive across the District and adopt zero tolerance policy on encroachments of Government land as well.
The DC also passed directions for taking strict action under law against the unlawful occupants of the Government land.
He asked them to make local public representatives, general public and media part of the mass anti-encroachment operations to stop this trend in our society.
The DC asked the Tehsildars to monitor each chunk of land in their respective jurisdictions and activate their field staff to keep proper check and vigil on any kind of encroachments in respective jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, the meeting also discussed the status of digitisation of maps and reconstruction of Massavis (Latthas).
The DC sets deadline of December 31 for completing the process reconstruction of Massavis (Latthas) and asked for notifying schedule for Digitization of maps.
