Baramulla : The Block Divas was on Wednesday observed with great enthusiasm across all the Sub divisions of Baramulla district under the aegis of ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur’ with a participation of District officers and public.
On the occasion, the respective Sub Divisional heads organised related events at different locations of the district to listen to the public issues, grievances and raise awareness on various schemes including individual beneficiary oriented schemes.
The Programme aimed at sensitizing the local inhabitants of the area and adjoining areas about different schemes viz. CSS, UT Capex, NABARD etc. run by the Govt.
The objective of celebrating the Block Diwas is to assess the progress of developmental works being executed in different sectors besides redressing the public grievances and providing the services to the masses at their door steps to strengthen grassroot level democracy.
At Block Noorkha Uri, ZaingeerSopore and Kunzer, the concerned Sub Divisional heads presided over Block Divas at their respective locations wherein the officers of line departments besides PRIs were present in the programme.
The Block Divas was also attended by a large number of local people including from the adjacent villages besides civil society members and prominent citizens.
On the occasion, the representatives of various bodies, general public and civil society members apprised their concerned SDMs, Sub divisional heads regarding various issues and demands and sought their immediate redressal.
The issues and demands of the people were listened by their concerned officers patiently and were assured of redressing grievances of public importance in a time bound manner.
It was asserted by the presiding officers that the Block Divas is a regular feature now and appealed to people to become active participants so that the issues of daily importance are redressed in the minimum possible time.
The Sub divisional Megistrate instructed all the concerned officers to remain sensitive to all the genuine issues and grievances registered by the public.
It was also given out that campaigns will be intensified across the district against Nasha and Corruption besides cleanliness drive shall be launched in the villages by involving PRIs, General Public and students.
