Pulwama : Department of Islamic Studies, GDC Pulwama organized a visit of students to Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora to acquaint them with the highest seat of learning, academics, research aptitude and introduce them to acclaimed academicians of the valley, in the discipline of Islamic Studies. The students were accompanied by the faculty members of the department Prof. Zaira Ashraf Khan (HOD) and Dr. Firdous Ahmad Reshi.
According to an official statement issued by the Public Relations Office of the College this academic tour was hosted by the Department of Islamic Studies, IUST. At IUST Head, Department of Islamic Studies, Prof. AfrozAhmad Bisatiwelcomed and briefed students about the achievements and developments of the Department. Prof. Showket Hussain, Sr.Assistant Professorof the department enlightened about various life and career prospectus. The students also visited International Centre for Spiritual Studies IUST where they interacted with the Director of the Institute Prof. Hamid NaseemRafiabadi and the guest available Prof. Lily Want, Director Outreach Programs. Both shed light on the student enrichment programs offered by the University to the student community. Students then visited the fantabulous library of the university inaugurated recently in the year 2021 wherein they were guided by the Librarian and welcomed by the Head Library, Prof. Fayaz Lone. Overall it was a memorable experience and highly appreciated one.
