Distt Dev Council meet held in Rajouri, Chairman calls for timely completion of Dev works

Rajouri :  Chairman District Development Council Rajouri, Chowdhary Naseem Liyaqat on Tuesday called for maintaining close collaboration between PRIs and departments to achieve the desired results under Government schemes and timely completion of developmental projects.

From the administration side, the meeting attended by DDC Rajouri, VikasKundal; SSP, Mohammad Aslam; ADDC, Pawan Kumar; ADC Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar Behnal, ADC Kalakote, KrishanLal, ADC Nowshera, Kartar Singh, ADC Koreranka, Surinder Mohan Sharma; PO ICDS, ShoketMehmood Malik, CPO, Mohammad Khurshid, ACR, Imran Rashid Kataria; SDM Thanamandi, VikasDhar, GM DIC, Ashwini Sharma, PO IWMP, SherazChowhan; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; SE PDD, Kamal Kishore, CMO, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar, and other officers.

At the outset, the meeting was informed about the physical and financial progress on the development projects taken up by different departments in the district. The meeting was also informed about several welfare schemes and programs that are being implemented in the district to benefit the general public.

The Chairman took a detailed review of physical and financial progress of each work under District Capex plan and asked the officers to expedite the progress and ensure timeline completion.

Taking a review of JJM projects, the meeting was informed that out of 110 schemes in Nowshera Subdivision, the tenders for 103 schemes have been allotted, while in Rajouri subdivision out of 183 schemes, the work on 44 schemes has been allotted. It was further informed that the work on 52 schemes has been started.

Taking note of the RDSS scheme of the PDD sector, the concerned officer apprised that scheme aims to provide financial assistance to DISCOMs for modernization and strengthening of distribution infrastructure, aiming at improvement of the reliability and quality of supply to end consumers. While noting the unscheduled power outages, the Chairman asked that the curtailment schedules be made public for the convenience of consumers.

Discussing the progress under the PMGSY sector, the meeting was informed that out of 194 schemes in Rajouri subdivision, the work on 184 schemes is complete while 11 schemes are in progress. Similarly, in Budhal subdivision, it was informed that out of 124 schemes, the work on 111 schemes is complete and 13 are in progress.

Regarding the progress under MGNREGA, it was informed that 11504 works were taken up out of which 313 works have been completed and 13.62 lacsmandays have been generated.

Threadbare discussion was also held on a number of issues including shortage of electricity poles, scarcity of water, material payment under MGNREGA, playground at upper siot, JK Bank Branch at QilaDarhal, paucity of staff in educational institutions, disbursement of cases under Mission Youth etc.

Among the other issues raised during the meeting were construction of GDC Building at Doongi, construction of road from Nagoon to Pallulian, shortage of staff at PHC Chatyar, ambulance facility for PHC Nadyala, forest clearance, completion of work on smart classrooms, compensation for road from Kandi to Kha, shortage of staff at PHC Fatehpur etc.

The District Development Commissioner asked the officers to put in dedicated efforts to provide prompt and hassle free services to the general public and redress their grievances.

The District Development Commissioner   assured that the genuine concerns of the public raised in the meeting shall be redressed in a time bound manner with the intervention of the concerned departments.

The DDC Chairman also urged the officers to work in tandem and put in sincere efforts to advance the district’s development and yield better results on the ground.

He asked the officers to mobilize their men and machinery to complete the projects in stipulated time frame with productive and appropriate utilization of the available resources.

The Chairman also advised the DDC Members and BDC Chairpersons to formulate the developmental plans keeping in view the needs of their areas.

Regarding the dilapidated condition of the school buildings, he asked to conduct a survey and submit the list of the school buildings which are unsafe so that necessary measures can be taken in this regard.

He also urged them to step up their efforts and work toward full implementation of welfare schemes and programs, noting that these schemes and programs have been launched for raising the socioeconomic condition of the public.
